Blog Pages vs. Blog Posts

So you’re blogging every day and building your blog up nicely. The posts are adding up and getting you some decent listings in the search engines. Right?
But how many pages have you added?
Some of you are going to answer something to the effect of, “one a day, of course.”
Maybe not. Because you are actually writing blog post pages, not regular pages.
Let me ‘splain, Lucy.
If you are using WordPress, and many other blogging platforms, you have the option to create pages within the system as well. Remember that “about us” page you filled out so many moons ago? That, my dear friends, is a blog page.
You see, WordPress is a full CMS (content management system). Capable of creating as many pages as you like. So how is this useful? If you are working on specific key words and phrases, it might be huge for your blog. Because you can create single, laser targeted sales pages for each of your products or services. These links can be put right in the navigation of your blog, either in the top, or in the sidebar, depending on how your blog is designed.
Here’s the magic part. Because of this, you can use WordPress as a complete website. Not just an addition to static pages. So if you are considering building a company website AND a blog, why not consider using the blogging software AS the website in it’s entirety?
Brilliant huh?
Not really, and I can’t claim the credit for this idea. Actually my buddy over at Article Content Provider was chatting with me about this topic this morning. So I decided to make it the topic of discussion today.
So what do you think? Is it a viable plan to use WordPress, or some other blogging software as your entire website? Or do you prefer more of a hybrid mix for your business website?
Looking forward to your thoughts.
