Viral Content: Make it Happen?

Doing business online causes you to pick up several catch phrases. One popular subject among business bloggers is creating ‘viral content.’
You’ll also see tons of ebooks and sales pages offering to teach you the secrets of creating viral content with your blog or website.
But can you really just wake up one morning and decide to create viral content?
In my opinion. No. Not if you define ‘viral’ literally. Because taken literally, viral means that one person reads the content and then passes it on to another. Those people pass it on to their friends and contacts, and so on, and so on, and so on… The numbers become exponential rapidly.
The result is a huge burst of traffic to your blog.
But let’s get back to creating the viral content. Can you really create something and know it’s going to be viral? Not really. Because no one can sit down at their computer and put together some content that they just know the world is going to go “ga ga” over and propagate that content like wildfire. If you did know exactly how to do it time and time again, would you ever open your mouth and teach others how to do it?
Of course not. You’d keep your lips sealed and create viral masterpieces day in and day out. Within months taking over the internet as we know it.
But you can make some educated guesses when creating content for your blog that you hope will become viral.
The best way to work at creating viral content is to create content that you think your readers will find extremely useful. So useful in fact that they want to send it to all of their friends. And their friends will hopefully keep the fire burning…
So it comes back to what we teach here. Build a real resource and some of your content will become viral. You will see traffic bursts for super useful pieces of content. If you stay dedicated to creating good content for your business blog.
