Blog Review: 100% Free Reviews for Business Blogs

Free Blog Review

These days, almost every blogger knows that one of the ways to increase traffic, search ranking, and overall site trust is by having other blogs and websites write a comprehensive review. In fact, blog reviews have become so popular that the demand has spawned a cottage industry of paid review websites.

To be honest, the idea crossed my mind too. Scratch some scrilla for the Killa. Feel me?

But that just wouldn’t be my style….. :)

Because there are inherent problems with paid blog reviews. Primarily, the reviews are rarely, if ever, honest. Who’s going to pay for a review that contains some negative points about a company blog? So bloggers who write these paid reviews have a super incentive to write whatever they think the blog owner wants to hear. In fact, some of the paid blog reviewer websites even have a form to fill out containing “suggested” text and “important factors” that the blog owner paying for the review is supposed to submit.

Not much of a review, huh?

What is happening for blog reviews is that readers are becoming calloused when they see that their favorite blogger has written a site review, especially if they know that the blogger gets paid for it. How do they know??? Because these same bloggers constantly announce that these reviews are available in order to sell more of them. They know that a large percentage of their blog readership usually contains other bloggers, so they are pimping their reviews every chance they get. Sometimes daily on some very popular marketing blogs.

So I say to myself. “Chuck, what should Business Blogs do about this?” We have some decent traffic. Should we just cash in like everyone else and see what the market will bear? Whore out reviews for anyone that has a credit card and knows how to use it???

Again, not my style…..
:)

What I decided we’re going to do is pretty simple. The picture at the top of this post says it all.

Business Blogs is now offering 100% FREE reviews for any business oriented blog!

If you’ve shopped around, you’ll know that some blogs with similar traffic are charging upwards to $500 for a review. Business Blogs is going to give them away…. Cool, huh?

Hold on to your Outlook for just a second boys and girls. Before you machine gun me with emails requesting that your blog be reviewed, you might want to read a little further. There are going to be some guidelines and there might just be a thing or two you won’t like.

First of all, every review will be posted here on Business Blogs. Good, bad, or indifferent…..

Because the second point is that every review is going to be an honest review.

If I like your blog, I’ll say so. I’ll even say why. Be warned, the reverse is also true. If your blog sucks and has zero value to readers, I’m probably going to write just that. I don’t intend to sugarcoat anything with my blog reviews, because it does nothing to help you create a better blog. It does not help readers of this blog when deciding whether or not they want to check out your blog. If it really bites bad bologna sandwiches, I’m going to tell them so. For they are, my readers.

If it rocks, I’ll say it rocks. If your blog is informative in my opinion, I’ll put it in the blog post containing your blog’s review. Again, the purpose of this exercise is to create a resource that users can depend on here at Business Blogs. Not to make friends, not to create backlinks, not for some secret squirrel SEO project I have up my sleeve.

Nope, it’s just to help you build a better blog and to point our readers at good business blogs we review. Period.

Here’s how it’s going to work:

First, post a comment in this thread asking that your blog be reviewed. Then follow that up with an email via our contact form. Please put your contact information in your email along with your job title or the position within your company that you hold.

For now, you must actually work for the company, manage or own the blog in order to request a free business blog review from this site. Please mark the email “Business Blog Review”, include a contact person and a phone number. Just in case we decide that your blog is stellar and would like to do an interview.

Also, your blog needs to have some meat to it. I know it’s rough being a baby blogger in the business blogging world, but if you want to request a free review you need to have at least 15 posts. This will include many new blogs and even allow for the part time company bloggers that blog once or twice a week.

Less than 15 posts? No cookie. Sorry. Write a little more and come back when you’ve got em’.

No adult blogs, hate blogs, controversial blogs, etc. will be reviewed. Don’t post your links in the comments, they will be deleted. Don’t bother to email and ask, I will not bend on this policy.

That also goes for the scraper blogs, drug blogs and made for Adsense blogs. Writing a blog solely for the purpose of gaining search traffic that has zero value to the user does not equal owning a business blog. There may be exceptions for some medical blogs (read: written by medical professionals), so if you feel your blog does have a value in this area, send me an email, I’ll check it out.

Unfortunately, we’re going to have to also ask that personal bloggers not submit their blogs for review either. This site is about business, and doing business online. I’m sure your blog is lovely and that you write beautiful prose when commenting about your totally unique experience with __________________ (insert ailment, addiction, obsession, compulsion or hobby in the blank).

Reviews for personal sites don’t belong here. Please don’t submit personal blog links for review.

Remember, we’re looking for quality here. If you think your blog is a business resource and would like an absolutely free review….. Let’s rock. Post a comment, send the email, I’ll take a look.

What are ya??? Scared or somethin’??? :)

Thank you Wei. I have also received your blog review request. So it looks like you’ll be the first victim. It’s on my schedule and I’ll get over there and take a look at your blog really soon.

I appreciate you stepping up and offering to be the first to request a blog review in this little experiment of mine. It takes guts and moxy to succeed in business.

At either rate, look for your review in the very near future.

Well, the commenting part seems to have escaped everyone, but that’s ok. the email response for business blog reviews has been really wonderful. Right now I have over twenty business blogs in line for review, which I’ll start working on very soon.

The reason I haven’t started yet is because I am making a standard review checklist so that each review has the same format. That way each review covers the same points. More fair for everyone.

At either rate, the reviews should start rolling out next week.

If you or your company would like a totally free review for your company blog, shoot me an email via our contact form. The link is at the top of this page. I’ll put you on the list and we’ll post your free review in the very near future.

Bogged down with deadlines for clients this week guys and gals. I’ll get on these reviews as soon as humanly possible. Probably in the next couple of days or so.

Sorry for the delay, but the paying customers always come first. Gotta get my schedule cleared a little and then I’ll write the business blog reviews I’ve got lined up.

    Thanks for your patience.

    Chuck Crawford

  6. Paul Steinberg Says:

No problem Chuck. I can wait till you have the time to tear into me, constructively! Paying customers first.
    Till next week.
