Newspaper Online! Information Flashback
It was super interesting to see this video this morning. It’s a news report from 1981 about being able to read the newspaper using your home computer. At the time, this concept was absolutely unheard of. To think, the millions of blogs out there today started with these humble beginnings…..
2 HOURS to download a single newspaper! And I get irritated when it takes two minutes to get a file. Oh, the times, how they are a changin’….

Nostalgia.
Ahh, the good old days.
A TRS-80 (mc10) hooked up to the black and white tv, tape cassette drive clicking away and coding line 320 in basic so that I could play a very poor clone of Pacman.
LOL.
P.S. If you are looking for a picture of the MC-10 go Here

“And I get irritated when it takes two minutes to get a file.”
I remember about 15 years ago, when a friend commented about how how quickly we could open files on a floppy disk, we would become spoiled and expect even quicker processing times on our personal computers. My suggestion was that we were a little spoiled and should not expect any major improvement in that area.
Now, when it takes any more than a few seconds to open a file, I have time to fidget, count my fingers, and pull out a few hairs. Go figure!
Cheers, Ken.
