How long do I blog
Today one of my clients asked me, “How long do I need to blog for?”
My answer, “Well, forever.”
He was pretty much mortified at the idea of having to maintain his corporate blog forever. His main concern was running out of ideas for topics to post about. I assured him, and I assure you, that this should not happen to most businesses.
The reason is simple. You can cover the same topic more than one time if you need to. Just because you cover the same topic doesn’t mean that it’s going to be considered duplicate content. Actually, it’s more relevant content to help your site overall if you write it correctly.
The key to covering the same topic on your blog multiple times is to not copy or quote yourself. The best way to do this is to read over what you wrote and think about points within the post that you missed. There’s almost always something you wished you’d have said. See if you can rattle it from the cobwebs and expand on your original post.
If not, it’s o.k. to cover the same stuff again. Just don’t cut and paste it. Read what you wrote, and then close the window. Open up your text editor and write it again. In different words. Don’t refer back to the post at all. Write it again in your own words and be as descriptive as possible.
Be sure to give your post a different title as well. Use synonyms where ever possible.
Try your best to keep the post original. Even if it is a topic you’ve covered before.
Whatever you do, keep on blogging. Yup, forever.
