Duplicate content or syndication?
You’ve probably seen them. Scraper blogs that have bits and pieces of your content. Totally useless blogs posing as real websites that are only there to make money from the ads they contain.
You probably know that some of these blogs do in fact have some traffic. I know many of our clients do. Because one of the questions we hear a lot is if a business blog can be done completely on autopilot. The methods they want to use vary from RSS feeds to content scraping, but the desired result is the same.
A blog that needs no attention. Turnkey.
But the turnkey business blog really does not exist. Not for legitimate companies wanting to gain new leads or new customers. Scraper blogs and duplicate content sites can work to some degree, but only for affiliate type sites wanting to make money from traffic referrals. In other words, these sites are junk. The reason the surfers click the ads on these sites is because they do not contain what they are looking for.
So for the affiliate marketer this might be an option. But if you are trying to make your company have a new or better web presence, you need a blog that contains unique content. If you only print syndicated content you find online, your website will be no better off. Your readers will end up going elsewhere to do business.
The bottom line is this. Once again, the magic button for web traffic and internet success does not exist. Just like building a bricks and mortar business, your online ventures take work. They take investment. And sometimes they take a little time to become fruitful.
But also like a bricks and mortar company, the benefits you can reap are awesome. If you write good content and stay faithful to your blog, the end result will be better sales and more growth for your company or corporation.
Just stick with it. Blog away and the results will come.
