Start a Blog says Google

Wondering how your company can rank better in Google? Looking for the secret to building solid inbound links? Maybe your company is paying a truckload of cash every month to SEO experts that just don’t seem to be getting the job done?
Why?
When Google has a public blog that pretty much tells you what they are looking for. Last week, the Official Google Webmaster blog had a really informative series about linking and how it pertains to SEO. In this series, they offered some “suggestions.” (read: instructions)
“Create unique and compelling content on your site and the web in general
* Start a blog: make videos, do original research, and post interesting stuff on a regular basis. If you’re passionate about your site’s topic, there are lots of great avenues to engage more users.”
Fairly clear what seems to be the most effective method, huh? It’s not only one of the suggestions, it’s the first suggestion. In my opinion clearly pointing out the best way to rank well with their algorithm.
Remember a few months back when several so called “experts” were screaming that blogging for business was dead? I wonder if those same naysayers will still stand on this point? Because it’s clear, right now, that Google says differently. You remember Google, right? They are that little search engine everyone uses. The one with all the traffic your company website wants and needs.

Interesting to hear Google saying exactly what they value – it definitely seems as though they like ‘relevant’ and ‘on topic’ blog content?

Hi Zath,
Yes, it does seem pretty clear what they are trying to say. As the first commenter mentioned, even Google themselves use blogs about their services. So topical blogs with quality content are going to continue to be valuable if you ask me.
