Direction of Blogging 2009
Now these are just predictions and my opinion. But I am fairly up to snuff on blogging and blog SEO, so take it for what you feel it’s worth.
Blogging is going to take on some twists this year I believe. Mostly because everyone is doing it these days. If you’re one of the few companies that has still not jumped into the blogging pool, go on and jump. You absolutely need to be blogging if you want to compete on the web today.
But I don’t think it stops there. Because as I said before, more companies than ever are blogging. That means your competitors, and yes, they are blogging too.
So to beat them, you’re going to have to outBLOG them. That’s my new word for 2009 btw, “OUTBLOG” and I think it’s going to be a household word come 2010. 
What I mean by outblog them is that you’re going to have to provide a better blog/community to your readers and clients than your competitors. You’re going to have to give them more. That’s right, MORE! But Chuck you say, I am already blogging my guts out with two or three posts a day. Sorry Charlie, it’s going to take more to be at the top this year. And I don’t just mean more posts.
What I mean is that you’re going to have to offer your users a larger variety to keep them coming back. Video, Ecasts, etc. Linkbait my friends. Cool stuff they will come back to use again and again. This means that your going to have to get creative and try to do whatever it is the competition is NOT doing.
You’re going to have to give them VALUE.
So plan your strategy carefully this year and then follow through with it. Blogging is bigger than ever and there’s a reason for that.
