For my first post I thought I would write to introduce myself. My name is Justin and I am a small business lawyer in Richmond, VA. 

Why This Small Business Blog

I started this blog to help people. To help people with the giant question of how to start a business. I started my own law firm after passing the bar exam because I wanted to help small business owners. I chose to start my own firm because I wanted to help people the way that I thought was right. I wanted to be more like a partner than a lawyer. Lawyers are expensive and I wanted to be an asset instead of a burden. That mindset is what also leads me to start this blog. I challenged myself to think how I could help the most people in the least burdensome way possible. This was the answer. I want this to be different than your average legal or small business blog though. I want to give specific state specific, step-by-step guidance. Some of this I plan to offer through the blog, the rest will be through published guides. 

 

More Actually About Me

I am a lawyer by trade, but since I have my own practice I am also a small business owner. I graduated from the University of Richmond School of Law and I have an undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of Tennessee. I was born and raised in Nashville, TN a place that is getting a lot more attention these days. I am married to the most amazing woman who impresses me everyday. I am very much looking forward to spending the rest of my days with that supportive, intelligent, and beautiful woman. 

I am a member of a bowling league (still chasing the 300 game though), enjoy history (have a life goal of reading a book by or about each President), and am a passionate fan of my Tennessee Volunteers. 

 

I am here to share with you the knowledge I have collected in the hopes of making the road of owning a business easier. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I look forward to sharing this journey with you.
